Eco-Complexity Lab studies research focuses on global systems ecology under the influences of climate change and human activities.

Our research span a multi-scale framework, from plant functional traits at the micro‑scale, through community assembly at the meso‑scale, to ecosystem dynamics at the macro‑scale. By integrating global pattern analysis with mechanistic exploration of ecological processes, his research adopts the complete “pattern–process–mechanism” paradigm to advance our understanding of how natural and anthropogenic drivers shape the Earth’s ecosystems.

Principal Investigator
Lidong Mo is a professor at Nankai University. His research focus on global systems ecology under the influences of climate change and human activities. The research framework spans multiple scales: from plant functional traits at the micro‑scale, through community assembly at the meso‑scale, to ecosystem dynamics at the macro‑scale. His work integrates global pattern analysis with mechanistic exploration of ecological processes, following the complete “pattern–process–mechanism” paradigm.
